9. Governers Ball Music Festival 2017

10. Bonnaroo Arts & Music Festival 2017
When: June 8-11
Where: Manchester, Tennessee
Highlight: This festival was largely influenced by rock concerts of the late 1960s and early 1970s.

Still young in the music festival world, Firefly deliver some top notch line up and never disappoint. It’s hard to top a lineup that featured Paul McCartney isn’t it? Music may be the primary attraction at any music festival but it certainly isn’t the last. This four day event takes place on the beautiful grounds of Woodlands of Dover. Being nestled in the woods allows Hammock Hangouts where you can rest peacefully. Other amazing experiences include camping, lit up pathways, coffee house, fun-filled arcade and many more. 14. Newport Folk Festival 2017
When: July 28-30
Where: Newport, Rhode Island.
Highlight: The Newport Folk festival reminds you that the music form of jazz is not dead and in fact has a growing audience of all ages.
It’s an American folk music festival held in Newport. It was started in July 1959 to compliment the Newport Jazz Festival. One of the oldest music festival in the country, it hosts a variety of artists and performances from folk, country, blues, bluegrass, fold rock musicians, alternative country, indie folk, and folk punk.
Apart from its rich unconventional history, it is said that this is where legends play. With Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash and Janice Joplin performing years ago at the same event proves that. The festival has always kept its spirit and character authentic and impactful as ever. The crowd and culture in and around the fest is very simple and true to what the music projects. It takes place at a picturesque venue, with its beautiful harbour and large white sailboats view from the main stage. Delicious food trucks and tents are placed all over the venue to enjoy. 15. Lollapalooza 2017
When: Aug 3-6
Where: Chicago, Illinois
Highlight: You’ll eat the best pizza in the world while listening to the best music in the world during this festival
Lollapalooza was started by Jane’s Addiction’s singer Perry Farrell in 1991 as a farewell tour for his band. It ran annually until 1997, and was revived in 2003. This music festival features popular alternative rock, heavy metal, punk rock, hip hop and EDM bands and artists, dance and comedy performances and craft booths. It is known to be one highly organized, well-run festival. In 2012, despite a storm shutting things down, shows were rescheduled and the show went on impressively. Today the festival brings in more than 100 bands every year. Grammy winner and Chicago native Chance the Rapper, The Killers, Muse, Lorde, D J Snake and Arcade Fire are among the headliners.
When it comes to style, this fest leans more towards casual and comfort. The Midwest is more about practicality and comfort. So you can wear whatever you want for this event. So don’t worry if you’re wearing a loose maxi dress or a simple crop top and shorts with flats, no one is going to judge you at Lolla!
