What is the Difference Between an Abridged version and an Unabridged version?

An abridged version is shorter in length and detailed compared to an unabridged version of a book, audiobook, dictionary, etc. An abridged version is concise and an unbridged version is elaborate even and detailed.

If you don’t want a detailed version of a book or an audiobook, abridged version is what you should go for—it is shorter in length, occupies less of your time, costs you less, more comprehensible in nature, more entertaining, leaves extra details and explanation—for your ease.
